School's OUT!!!! Yea!!!!!
But I'm not really feeling the effects of it all. Ask me next week.
Today at our assembly our school collected the Pennies for Peace pennies that the kids had been bringing for just one month. We had $463. It takes $5000 to build a school. That's our goal for next year.
It may seem like a just another fund raiser, but somehow this one rings differently in our hearts. We are all too aware of the Middle East now, ever since 9/11. And we are all shaking our heads in wonder on how the violence can be stopped.
Why do they hate?
Why do they kill?
Why? Why? Why?
And Greg Mortenson does not have those answers, but he has discovered a basic principle. Education now may have the future impact we need to redirect the energy from violence to peace.
