I was wearing this shirt today, thus the thought triggered.
I had forgotten. I do remember that when I started signing my letters home like that my mom thought that I was turning to drugs at the most, a hippie at the least. I'm sure she thought pregnancy and a commune were not too far behind.
I loved being a product of education in the late 60s and early 70s.
Woodstock, burn your bra, Kent State, women's lib, Democratic National Convention of '68, streakers, The Beatles, the Stones...
It was turbulent, energizing, mind blowing all at once. I don't think such a time will ever be repeated again.
And I'm thinking we (the world) did make some gains from those years, but as to my wish...
love peace kindness
I think we have some work to do.
