So we just recently finished work on a house, a complete house, and it wasn't hard at all.
Due to the fact that it was miniature.
Ed (Santa) had made a house for Natalie when she was four.
She loved that house.
Don't ask me why we kept it. It was just made out of scrap plywood and paneling with leftover wallpaper from our house and terry cloth towels for carpet. Not our best work, but Natalie never knew anything differently.
Well, now that she is having a little girl she wants her doll house. And we are happy to send it on.
So we pulled it out of the basement, thinking it wouldn't look that bad! Amazing what 29 years of no use can do to an object.
It was in sad need of repair.
So I stripped the wallpaper (and it's just as nasty on miniature as in actual)
and Ed made a new staircase from some leftover real wood he's put down in our home. I repainted the inside with leftover paint from Natalie's Chicago home and Ed repainted the outside.
So with a little teamwork we ended up revamping the house and making it all new for 2012 and a second generation!
