Statute of Limitations

Today we had our Christmas celebration with my dad. My aunt (his sister) came along with my brother. A quiet affair.

My aunt brought a photo taken about 1905 of my paternal grandfather's family and she was telling stories of any memories she had of her aunts and uncles. (There were ten children)

But the funny part is that my aunt is 83 years old and she told of two stories; one where she stole something from one of those aunt's when she was very small and another story about something she "should" have done and she said she still feels guilty about it.

She's 83....does guilt ever go away?

I laughed at her and I said that the statute of limitations is over on guilt.

This is true for all of us.

No more guilt.

Let it go.
