When you tell a two year old something that they don't want to hear or do, they ignore you. They walk away. They make a face. They scream "No!"
When you walk dogs and try to move them on from a desired smell or just one more tree, they ignore you. They turn their head. They try to walk away.
The only way to get either of them to change their mind is the fine art of distraction. I'm pretty good at distraction with a dog and I'm certainly working on improving my skills with a two year old!
Here's the Miss at the Library or "yibarry" as she calls it. I do have to work my powers to get her to leave....
