How often do we, in Iowa, get this chance? I am a fan of her HBO show, Girls. And in preparation for her visit I watched her 2010 movie, Tiny Furniture. Which is really the prequel to the show, in my opinion.
Part of the cost of the ticket to her show is a signed copy of her book. I picked it up before the visit and read it. It is autobiographical and really the basis of her movie and shows. I cannot believe her life and she writes with such humor and honesty. It was a really engaging read.
I've had such a wonderful Fall with authors: Chris Crutcher, Heather Gudenkauf, Marilynne Robinson, Ayana Mathis, Lena Dunham.
Oh so inspirational, oh so interesting.
I love retirement!
