We went to Last Vegas last night.
The Senior Citizen movie (and we got our Senior discount).
It was just exactly what you would predict.
Predictable.
Senior Citizen jokes.
Moral of the story: live each day to the fullest.
Mindless.
But sometimes that's ok. Just to go to a movie and be in a world with no problems or sorrow.
Michael Douglas played a suave, smooth, wealthy business man. Not much of a stretch.
Robert DeNiro played a Brooklyn blue collar widower. Again type cast. He could be sullen and grumpy, nothing new here.
Kevin Kline was the Florida retiree stereotype. Wearing white sneakers and sporting a cap; accessories that go with anything.
Morgan Freeman was the retiree living with his son and stifled by previous health scares. Once he got to Vegas he celebrated life.
You could laugh at the stenotypes they were portraying, but I knew very well that these men were ages ranging from 65-70. Just a few years older than myself. And that was a cause for concern, for me. Really, did I look like that? Did I act like that?
However in defense of my gender, the women in the movie these men were married to were in no manner as old looking or acting as the men.
Whew, maybe it's just the men that slip so easily into the recliner and sloppy dress and cliches.
