here is a story from a friend of mine. This just emphasizes where we are either at or where we are heading.
My friend is taking a friend to see her son and then go to the musical, Wicked. As she is on the road to her friend's house she realizes she may not have packed the clothes for the evening.
She returns home and packs them.
Once at her destination as they get ready to leave she realizes she forgot to pack a coat.
Oh well.
Then on the way down the stairs out of her son's apartment she thinks, OMG I forgot the tickets.
Through a rather lengthy process they retrieve the tickets online and on her phone, hoping this will suffice.
From the parking ramp into the venue she trips and falls. Just bruising.
Inside the first clerk cannot access the tickets, nor the second, finally the fourth.
They are seated just as the curtain rises.
The show is fantastic.
Again, back in the parking ramp, they forgot where they parked.
After several attempts they find the car.
Back at her son's apartment she realizes she has forgotten to pack pajamas.
She was almost afraid to go to sleep, but alas, the next day was better.
None of this behavior was like her. It did frighten her, as well as her son and friend. At our age we do wonder, what is next? It doesn't usually look better than today. However we cannot live in fear. I recently read a line in a book that said, "We cannot waste Wednesday worrying about Friday." Very true, but easier said than done.
(In case you were wondering, as was I, what exactly DID she pack in her suitcase? Well is was a change of underwear and socks and a sweater for her daughter that she wanted her son to see. Really, she didn't feel the suitcase was rather light????)
