It was so much fun. the instructor (drummer) was FANTASTIC! He was great with four year olds. His instruction was simple and at their level and very pertinent to their world. He also had them eating out of his hand. His management was impressive and as former educators we can recognize those skills in a second.
As I thanked him and praised him for the above he accepted it graciously and added, "The kids are the ones who taught me." And isn't that true? You can read all you want about management but it is only when you are confronted with 25 children (in his case 88+) do you learn how to control the crowd.
However he was a natural with the kids.
He made me smile, and also my favorite drummer.
Playgrounds in California, due to the wonderful weather, are so much different than in the Midwest.
