We did plant an Aspen in our yard knowing it does not do well at this elevation. It thrives best at 10,000 feet and you could see the truth in that fact.
On our travels we just turned a bend and we were hit in the face with this sea of Aspens. From this photo it looks like a field of golden flowers, but it is Aspens. Someone told us that the Aspen roots are all connected and sort of act as one. This would prove that point.
We took a shortcut, a less traveled road to Aspen, and we were so mesmerized by the beauty of the stately Aspen trees. I couldn't get enough of them. I could visualize the Native Americans walking, traveling and living among these forests and using each and every part of the tree for their living.
