Colorado

We moved to Colorado because we liked the area, but most importantly because our daughter lived here and our son was a quick two hour flight away. In all the times we had visited we knew we could easily live here. The state had the four seasons we were used to. It was dry and not humid, a fact we really loved. And the temperatures were more temperate than in Iowa.

Once we moved here all of the above proved to be true. And while we appreciated the beauty of the state, we had no real appreciation until our recent trip.

We now understand how our neighbors who moved 'down' from the mountains find this area too hot.

We now understand the comments so many make about the beauty of the Aspens turning color. Even though I still protest that the midwest has the best fall foliage.

And every day as we take our walk and we see the mountain range we understand the lines in America the Beautiful: "purple mountains majesty."

I haven't met a person yet who has NOT proclaimed the massive beauty of this state. As we were talking with a sales clerk he asked us the "loop" we took on our road trip. He said he asks that question because there are so many 'loops' to do.

Our travels within this state are endless. We are already planning our next few excursions. And what could be better than to move to a state that provides endless sightseeing.

And fun.

And meditative happiness.

This has truly been a wonderful choice for my last chapters.
